SCREENING PLAGIARISM

Journal of Education and Learning Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous plagiarism screening process before being considered for peer review.

1. Plagiarism Detection

  • The journal uses plagiarism detection software to check all submitted manuscripts for originality.
  • A manuscript is considered plagiarized if it contains unattributed verbatim copying, paraphrasing without proper citation, or self-plagiarism beyond acceptable limits.

2. Acceptable Similarity Index

  • The maximum similarity percentage allowed is 20% (excluding references and properly cited quotations).
  • Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

3. Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable

  • Direct Plagiarism: Copying text from another source without proper citation.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Republishing an author’s previously published work without proper acknowledgment.
  • Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases from multiple sources without citation.
  • Accidental Plagiarism: Failing to paraphrase or cite sources correctly.

4. Consequences of Plagiarism

  • Minor plagiarism (similarity below 25%): Authors will be required to revise their manuscript.
  • Moderate plagiarism (similarity between 25%–40%): Manuscripts will be rejected and authors may be banned from submitting for a certain period.
  • Severe plagiarism (similarity above 40%): Manuscripts will be rejected immediately, and the authors’ institutions may be notified.

5. Author Responsibility

  • Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cited.
  • If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be retracted, and a correction or retraction notice will be issued.

6. Screening Process

  • All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism before peer review.
  • If any plagiarism is detected after peer review, the editorial board will take appropriate action based on the severity of the case.

By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge that their work complies with the journal’s Plagiarism Screening Policy.
