SCREENING PLAGIARISM
Journal of Education and Learning Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous plagiarism screening process before being considered for peer review.
1. Plagiarism Detection
- The journal uses plagiarism detection software to check all submitted manuscripts for originality.
- A manuscript is considered plagiarized if it contains unattributed verbatim copying, paraphrasing without proper citation, or self-plagiarism beyond acceptable limits.
2. Acceptable Similarity Index
- The maximum similarity percentage allowed is 20% (excluding references and properly cited quotations).
- Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.
3. Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable
- Direct Plagiarism: Copying text from another source without proper citation.
- Self-Plagiarism: Republishing an author’s previously published work without proper acknowledgment.
- Mosaic Plagiarism: Borrowing phrases from multiple sources without citation.
- Accidental Plagiarism: Failing to paraphrase or cite sources correctly.
4. Consequences of Plagiarism
- Minor plagiarism (similarity below 25%): Authors will be required to revise their manuscript.
- Moderate plagiarism (similarity between 25%–40%): Manuscripts will be rejected and authors may be banned from submitting for a certain period.
- Severe plagiarism (similarity above 40%): Manuscripts will be rejected immediately, and the authors’ institutions may be notified.
5. Author Responsibility
- Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cited.
- If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be retracted, and a correction or retraction notice will be issued.
6. Screening Process
- All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism before peer review.
- If any plagiarism is detected after peer review, the editorial board will take appropriate action based on the severity of the case.
By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge that their work complies with the journal’s Plagiarism Screening Policy.
