Implementation of Meritocracy Principles in Human Resource Recruitment and Selection in Educational Institutions

This study aims to analyze the implementation of meritocracy principles in the recruitment and selection process of human resources at educational institutions. The research uses a qualitative approach and a library research method, reviewing various scholarly sources, including books, journals, articles, and relevant documents. The results show that the application of a merit-based system in recruitment and selection plays an important role in creating a professional, objective, and transparent human resource management system. The recruitment process is carried out based on competence, qualifications, capability, and work performance, enabling educational institutions to acquire teaching and administrative staff who match the organization's needs. However, the implementation of the merit system still faces various challenges, including nepotism, subjectivity, and limitations in the selection process. Therefore, regulatory strengthening, increased transparency, and ongoing supervision are needed to ensure that meritocracy is applied effectively and sustainably, supporting improvements in educational quality.This study aims to analyze the implementation of meritocracy principles in the recruitment and selection process of human resources at educational institutions.
