Plagiarism Screening

J-PE: Jurnal Pendidikan is committed to maintaining academic integrity and publishing only original scholarly works. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism screening before being sent for peer review.

The journal uses plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar tools, to identify potential plagiarism, duplication, and improper citation practices.

Plagiarism Policy

Authors are required to ensure that:

  • The submitted manuscript is original.
  • All sources are properly cited and referenced.
  • Quotations, paraphrases, and borrowed ideas are appropriately acknowledged.
  • The manuscript does not contain any form of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication, or data falsification.

Similarity Index

The maximum acceptable similarity index for submitted manuscripts is:

≤ 20% Overall Similarity

In addition:

  • Similarity from a single source should generally not exceed 5%.
  • Properly cited references, bibliography sections, and commonly used methodological phrases may be excluded from the similarity assessment at the editor's discretion.

Editorial Action

Based on the plagiarism screening results, the editorial team may take the following actions:

Similarity ≤ 20%

The manuscript may proceed to the peer-review process.

Similarity Above 20%

The manuscript may be:

  • Returned to the author for revision and resubmission; or
  • Rejected if substantial plagiarism or unethical practices are identified.

Severe Plagiarism

Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated data, or unethical academic practices will be rejected immediately.

J-PE: Jurnal Pendidikan follows the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to promoting honesty, transparency, originality, and integrity in scholarly publishing.

Authors are encouraged to check their manuscripts for similarity before submission to ensure compliance with the journal's plagiarism policy.
