Publication Ethics

The Journal of Spirituality and Counseling (JSC) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and is guided by the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal is committed to ensuring ethical practices at every stage of the publishing process, involving editors, reviewers, and authors.

Duties of Editors

  • Ensure fair and impartial review of all manuscripts.

  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

  • Make publication decisions based solely on academic merit, relevance, and originality.

  • Prevent conflicts of interest and unethical practices.

Duties of Reviewers

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback to authors.

  • Maintain confidentiality of the review process.

  • Identify relevant published work that has not been cited.

  • Decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Duties of Authors

  • Submit only original works that have not been published or submitted elsewhere.

  • Properly cite and acknowledge the work of others.

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest and sources of financial support.

  • Cooperate with the editorial team during the review and revision process.

Plagiarism and Misconduct

Plagiarism in all its forms, data fabrication, falsification, and unethical research practices are strictly prohibited. JSC uses plagiarism detection software to ensure originality. Suspected cases of misconduct will be handled in accordance with COPE guidelines, and articles may be rejected or retracted if ethical breaches are confirmed.

Transparency and Integrity

JSC promotes transparency, integrity, and accountability in scholarly publishing. All stakeholders are expected to uphold these principles to ensure the credibility of the journal and the advancement of knowledge.
