Peer Review Procces

All manuscripts submitted to The Journal of Spirituality and Counseling (JSC) undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and relevance of the published work.

  1. Initial Screening
The editorial team reviews all submissions to assess their compliance with the journal’s scope, guidelines, and ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements may be returned to authors without external review.

  2. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers under a double-blind review system, where both the authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

  3. Review Criteria
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, theoretical and practical contribution, clarity of presentation, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal’s scope, and adherence to ethical standards.

  4. Decision Process
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following decisions:

    • Accept without revisions

    • Accept with minor revisions

    • Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)

    • Reject

  5. Revision and Resubmission
Authors are required to address all reviewers’ comments and resubmit the revised version within the given timeframe. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers for further evaluation if necessary.

  6. Final Decision
The final decision to publish is made by the Editor-in-Chief, considering the reviewers’ feedback, editorial board recommendations, and journal policies.

The typical review process takes approximately 6–8 weeks, although this may vary depending on the complexity of the submission and the responsiveness of reviewers.
