Gerasi in Language Studies (GILS) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to research in language, linguistics, literature, language education, translation, applied linguistics, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal welcomes original and rigorous scholarly contributions from researchers, academics, educators, practitioners, and students.
Authors are required to carefully follow the guidelines below before submitting a manuscript.

For manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia, the use of standard Indonesian according to applicable academic writing conventions is required. For manuscripts written in English, authors are responsible for ensuring appropriate grammar, spelling, terminology, and academic style.
Manuscripts submitted to GILS must be original and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.

For manuscripts written in Bahasa Indonesia, an English abstract is also recommended to improve discoverability and accessibility.
For manuscripts written in English, an Indonesian abstract may be included where required by the journal template.
Provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript.
Keywords should be separated by semicolons (;).
The introduction should clearly explain:
The introduction should establish a clear rationale for the research.
The literature review should discuss relevant theories, concepts, and previous research.
Authors should critically synthesize previous scholarship rather than merely summarize sources. The literature review should establish the theoretical foundation and demonstrate the research gap addressed by the study.
The method section should clearly describe how the research was conducted.
Depending on the research design, it may include:
The description should provide sufficient information to understand the research process.
The results section should present the research findings clearly and systematically.
Tables and figures may be used when necessary. Each table and figure should be numbered, titled, and referred to in the text.
The discussion should interpret the findings in relation to the research questions, theoretical framework, and previous studies.
Authors should explain the significance of the findings and identify their theoretical, practical, educational, or methodological implications.
The conclusion should summarize the main findings and directly address the research objectives or questions.
Authors may also include implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research.
Acknowledgments may be included for individuals, institutions, research groups, or funding agencies that contributed to the research but do not qualify for authorship.
All sources cited in the manuscript must appear in the reference list.
All references should follow the APA 7th Edition style.
Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
Authors should prioritize relevant and recent scholarly sources, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles.

Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to determine their suitability for the journal.
Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed.

Any applicable Article Processing Charge (APC) will be clearly stated on the journal's Author Fees page.
Authors will be informed of applicable fees and payment procedures before publication.
Authors retain copyright of their published work and grant Gerasi in Language Studies the right of first publication.
Published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This license permits others to share and adapt the published work provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source.
