About the Journal
International Journal of Islam and Sustainable Development (IJISD) is a peer-reviewed and open-access journal on the intersection of Islamic studies and sustainable development. The journal provides a global platform for interdisciplinary dialogue focusing on how Islamic worldviews, ethics, law, economics, education, and socio-political thought contribute to contemporary sustainability challenges and the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). IJISD welcomes articles that locate Islam as a dynamic intellectual tradition engaging critically with issues such as social justice, environmental stewardship, inclusive development, governance, and human well-being. These include anthropology, history, political science, law, sociology, social geography, development studies, urban studies, literature, socio-linguistics, and economics.
Articles published in IJISD are disseminated to a broader audience than the one defined by a specific discipline, highlighting the socio-political relevance of the study's object. All articles are published in Open Access at no cost to the author.
IJISD is published biannually (June and December), with the possibility of increasing publication frequency as submission volume and quality increase.
The primary language of publication is English. Abstracts may be provided in additional languages to enhance global accessibility if required.
