This phenomenon presents both opportunities and challenges, as memes can effectively simplify moral values to be quickly received by audiences, yet also risk reducing the meaning of al-ḥayā’ to merely symbolic and visual aspects. This study aims to answer two questions: how the visualization and narrative of hadith memes about modesty are constructed on Instagram, and what factors influence them. Employing a qualitative descriptive-analytical method, with documentation as the data collection technique and Robert Entman’s framing analysis as the analytical tool, this research finds that meme content tends to highlight representations of Muslim women and headline typography rather than the hadith text itself, framing modesty as female identity in the public sphere, and linking the decline of modesty to shifting social values due to modernization. This pattern reveals the strategies of content creators in packaging religious messages to appear more appealing, while at the same time narrowing the meaning of al-ḥayā’, which should encompass piety, self-restraint, and spiritual relationship with God. The contribution of this research lies in enriching contemporary hadith studies through a critical perspective on digital da‘wah practices, though it remains limited to the Instagram platform, visual-narrative aspects, and the theme of al-ḥayā’
2026-06-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Marji' : Journal Of Qur'an and Hadith Studieshttps://jurnal.gerakanedukasi.com/index.php/marji/article/view/388Bentuk Variasi Redaksional Hadis Tasyabbuh dan Relevansinya Terhadap Identitas Keislaman2026-07-07T03:32:05+00:00Zalfa Ashilah Hauramassah Ar-Rasyid Zalfazalfaarrasyid04@gmail.com
The phenomenon of tasyabbuh has long attracted attention in hadith studies, yet its meaning is often reduced merely to symbolic and external prohibitions. This article addresses three main questions: a) how the variations of tasyabbuh hadith wording are found in primary hadith collections, b) how classical and contemporary scholars interpret the prohibition in theological, moral, and identity contexts, and c) how its relevance explains the dynamics of Muslim identity formation amid contemporary socio-cultural phenomena. This study employs a qualitative method with a library research approach, through the stages of takhrij, isnad and matn criticism, as well as analysis of hadith commentaries (syarah). The findings indicate that the tasyabbuh hadith does not appear in a single wording, but instead presents a spectrum of variations ranging from man tasyabbaha, which is general in tone, bu‘itstu, which carries theological dimensions, to laysa minna, which implies moral exclusion. Scholarly interpretations reveal diversity: some emphasize the protection of faith (aqidah), others limit it to worship and symbols, while some relate it to ethics and culture. The relevance of this hadith is evident in safeguarding Muslim identity, particularly in facing globalization, popular culture, and digital expressions. The novelty of this research lies in affirming that the textual variations of the tasyabbuh hadith serve as an essential instrument to understand its multidimensional meaning, beyond external prohibitions. This study concludes that the tasyabbuh hadith functions as a normative mechanism in Islam to construct identity boundaries. The limitation of this research is its reliance on textual sources, thus future studies should incorporate community-based reception to provide a more empirical picture.

2026-06-03T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jurnal.gerakanedukasi.com/index.php/marji/article/view/393Representasi Hadis Larangan Memakai Parfum Bagi Perempuan pada Tagar #harumtapiharam di Platform Instagram2026-07-08T05:45:07+00:00Elva Khoirun Nazaelvakhoirun@gmail.com
This study investigates how hadiths concerning the prohibition of women wearing perfume when going out are represented in Instagram content, considering that this social media platform has become a significant space for religious discourse. The research aims to address two main questions: How is the message conveyed in Instagram posts featuring the hadith about the prohibition of women wearing perfume? And how do netizens respond to these posts? This study uses a qualitative method, drawing on Stuart Hall’s theory of representation, particularly within the framework of encoding and decoding. The study reveals a social reality in which netizen comments on Instagram posts about the hadith tend to be divided between agreement and disagreement. This research also contributes to the understanding of the digitalization of religion and the role of social media in shaping contemporary Islamic religious discourse. Nevertheless, this study is limited by the sample size used, indicating the need for further research with a broader sample
2026-06-08T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 https://jurnal.gerakanedukasi.com/index.php/marji/article/view/397Hadis Nahi Munkar dalam Spektrum Redaksi, Makna, dan Konteks: Kajian Tekstual-Historis2026-07-09T05:14:18+00:00Faradelia Mahmuditafaradeliadita4@gmail.com
Recognized as one of the fundamental principles of Islam, nahi munkar serves to affirm religious faith and sustain social harmony; nevertheless, academic inquiries that specifically investigate the textual variations, semantic dimensions, and socio-historical contexts of the hadith remain comparatively limited. Accordingly, this study is guided by three main questions: first, what are the variations in the textual formulations of the hadith on nahi munkar? Second, what are the variations in their meanings? And third, what is the socio-historical context of the hadith related to nahi munkar? This research employs a qualitative method of data collection through library research, focusing on the kutub al-tis‘ah. The findings reveal that variations in the textual formulations of the hadith such as falyughayyirhu, fal yunkirhu, and the additional phrase fa istata‘a consistently emphasize the imperative of forbidding evil. In terms of meaning, the hadith broadens the understanding of nahi munkar to encompass physical action, verbal expression, and even the disposition of the heart as an indicator of faith, with some narrations further underscoring the threat of collective punishment if evil is tolerated. From a contextual perspective, the practice of nahi munkar has been implemented since the time of the Prophet and his Companions, spanning individual, social, and political domains. This study contributes to the systematic exploration of the variations of nahi munkar traditions in the kutub al-tis‘ah, which had previously only been discussed in a partial manner. Thus, nahi munkar serves as both a collective norm and a mechanism of social control for Muslims across time, safeguarding the consistency of Islamic normative values. Nevertheless, this study does not yet connect the textual-historical context with the practice of nahi munkar in contemporary society.
2026-06-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026
