The rapid advancement of digital technologies such as learning management systems (LMS), artificial intelligence-based platforms, and online collaborative tools has transformed global education. While these tools provide new opportunities for accessibility, interactivity, and lifelong learning, Islamic education faces the critical task of ensuring that such innovations remain aligned with spiritual, moral, and ethical objectives. Drawing on a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach, this study synthesizes classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary works on educational technology and curriculum design. The findings highlight three major contributions. First, digital pedagogy introduces flexibility and inclusivity, enabling learners from diverse contexts to access authentic Islamic knowledge. Second, Islamic values including amanah (trustworthiness), ʿadl (justice), and iḥsān (excellence) must serve as the core of curriculum development to ensure that digital innovations nurture holistic character formation rather than merely cognitive skills. Third, innovative strategies such as value-oriented e-learning platforms, gamification with spiritual narratives, collaborative digital tafsir, and AI-based personalized learning offer promising pathways to harmonize tradition and modernity. However, challenges remain, including digital literacy gaps, risks of misinformation, and the dominance of Western pedagogical paradigms. This study concludes that integrating digital pedagogy with Islamic values contributes to a holistic educational model aligned with the maqāṣid al-sharīʿah and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (quality education). Such a model prepares students to navigate the complexities of the modern world while preserving their spiritual identity and moral integrity.
Nur ‘Azah Nadeem Abd Memon Copyright (c) 2026 2026-04-07 2026-04-07 1 01 1 16 Enhancing Teacher Professional Growth Through Blended Learning and Innovative Pedagogies in Islamic Education https://jurnal.gerakanedukasi.com/index.php/abdidalem/article/view/359
Teacher professional growth is a cornerstone of educational excellence, particularly within Islamic educational institutions that aim to integrate intellectual advancement with moral and spiritual development. This study explores how blended learning and innovative pedagogies can enhance teacher professional growth in Islamic education. Using a qualitative library research approach, this paper reviews and synthesizes academic literature, policy frameworks, and Islamic educational perspectives to understand how technology-enhanced learning can support teacher development. The findings indicate that blended learning combining face-to-face and online modalities creates flexible, reflective, and collaborative spaces for teacher learning. Innovative pedagogical practices such as flipped classrooms, inquiry-based learning, and reflective teaching are essential to building teachers’ digital competence and adaptive capacity while maintaining Islamic ethical principles. Moreover, transformative leadership plays a key role in fostering a culture of lifelong learning and innovation among educators. The study concludes that integrating blended learning within Islamic ethical frameworks can empower teachers to become reflective practitioners and digital pedagogues who contribute to the holistic mission of Islamic education in the 21st century.
Muh Ali Ridho Copyright (c) 2026 2026-06-03 2026-06-03 1 01 17 31 Religious Literacy Multiculturalism and Curriculum Reform in Contemporary Islamic Education https://jurnal.gerakanedukasi.com/index.php/abdidalem/article/view/360
This article explores the role of religious literacy and multiculturalism as essential dimensions of curriculum reform in contemporary Islamic education. In the context of globalization and increasing cultural diversity, Islamic schools and universities are challenged to preserve their spiritual foundations while equipping learners with competencies relevant to modern societies. Using a qualitative library research method, the study synthesizes scholarly literature, policy documents, and classical as well as contemporary Islamic writings. The findings reveal that religious literacy goes beyond memorization of sacred texts, requiring critical interpretation, contextual engagement, and the application of Islamic values to global issues such as peace, environmental stewardship, and social justice. At the same time, multiculturalism highlights the need for inclusive pedagogy that integrates diverse cultural perspectives, fosters interfaith dialogue, and promotes civic responsibility. Curriculum reform initiatives in various contexts—including Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom—demonstrate a shift towards hybrid models that combine traditional Islamic sciences with modern subjects and global educational frameworks, particularly Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). The study concludes that integrating religious literacy and multicultural approaches into curriculum reform can strengthen the relevance, inclusivity, and transformative role of Islamic education, contributing not only to individual moral growth but also to societal harmony and global peace.
Muh Habibulloh Himad Ali Copyright (c) 2026 2026-04-07 2026-04-07 1 01 32 44 Pelatihan Pembuatan Media Pembelajaran PAI bagi Mahasiswa UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung https://jurnal.gerakanedukasi.com/index.php/abdidalem/article/view/247
Technological developments in the digital era demand innovation in the use of more engaging and adaptive learning media. Training on creating infographics and podcasts was conducted as an effort to improve the skills of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students in developing learning media. This study used a qualitative approach with hands-on training. Data collection techniques included observation, documentation, and field notes during the training. The results showed that students were able to produce learning media in the form of infographics using the Canva and Podcast applications with fairly good quality. The improvement in students' abilities was influenced by the training method, which emphasized hands-on practice, enabling them to optimally understand and apply Islamic Religious Education (PAI) material. However, several obstacles remained, such as limited internet connection, varying student abilities in using technology, and uneven audio quality. Therefore, this training can improve students' abilities in creating learning media, although further guidance is needed to achieve more optimal results.

Ismi Januarita Wiji Khoirun Nisa' Robi’ah Al Mardliyah Muhamad Bagas Pujianto Ifan Maftukha Ahmad Muhammad Dwi Toriyono Copyright (c) 2026 ABDIDALEM : Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dan Lembaga 2026-04-07 2026-04-07 1 01 45 55 Strengthening Teacher Professional Development Through Transformative Leadership in Islamic Education https://jurnal.gerakanedukasi.com/index.php/abdidalem/article/view/362
This article examines the role of transformative leadership in strengthening teacher professional development within Islamic educational institutions. Teachers are central to the success of educational reform, and their professional growth determines the overall quality of learning. In the context of Islamic education, leadership must not only address managerial and administrative functions but also embody ethical values, inspire innovation, and nurture holistic development. Using a qualitative library research method, this study synthesizes scholarly literature, policy frameworks, and case studies from diverse contexts. The findings show that transformative leadership encourages collaboration, reflection, and continuous learning among teachers, while integrating Islamic ethical principles such as justice (‘adl), compassion (rahmah), and responsibility (amanah). Moreover, transformative leaders foster teacher motivation, adapt professional development to global educational standards, and ensure relevance to local cultural and religious contexts. The study concludes that teacher professional development in Islamic education can be strengthened through visionary leadership that balances tradition with innovation, enhances pedagogical competencies, and prepares educators to contribute to institutional quality, student success, and societal progress.
M.
